Typography & Texture

I had a go at creating an oddly shaped typographically formed sentence using nothing but shadow in Photoshop. I tried to create this effect whilst still being able to read the message, not as clearly as usual, but more accented with the use of negative space to create abstract, surreal letter forms.
My most recent adaptation of this typography is placed on a piece of paper which shows a lot of shadow around it to emphasise the meaning.
I have more recently made another trial of this composition with new colours as I was not happy with my original result. I have used a more toned down backdrop and a more colourful type fill in instead of the original, busier image. (Below)
The original at the bottom has a halftone pattern and paper crinkles give a more realistic textural style, like that of a band poster or newspaper.
